Script to video

Turn a lecture script into a video lesson

Save your script as a Word, Markdown or text file. Zıpır builds the scene plan from its own sentences, you check every scene, and the video is narrated from your wording.

How it works

  1. 1

    Upload your script

Sign in and drop the file into the panel. Nothing is produced yet.

  2. 2

    Review the storyboard

Zıpır reads the file and proposes a scene plan. Each scene shows the sentence it will put on screen and the place in your file it comes from.

  3. 3

    Approve, or fix one frame

No video is rendered and no minutes are used until you approve. To change one frame, circle it and say what is wrong; only that frame changes, and revisions do not use minutes.

  4. 4

    Watch, share, check

The finished video has narration, subtitles and, on every scene, the page and line of the quote. A proof report comes with it.

What happens to your wording

Zıpır works from the sentences you wrote; it does not write a new script. Narration and on-screen text are built from your script's own sentences, and each scene in the storyboard shows the sentence and where it sits in your file.

Zıpır chooses which sentences to narrate, so a script is not guaranteed to be read word for word. Read the storyboard before you approve: that is where you see what the video will say. If a scene is wrong, circle it and say why; only that frame changes.

Preparing the file

  • Write plain sentences in a .docx, .md or .txt file. A PDF works too, but a text file gives you the cleanest result.
  • Keep stage directions, timecodes and speaker labels out of the file. Zıpır has no special handling for them, so they would be read as part of the text.
  • A script too short to make at least three scenes is turned down at the planning step, before any minutes are used.
  • One video runs up to 15 minutes. For a longer script, save each section as its own file.

Language. A document in English gets an English video by default, and you can choose the video's language when you upload. If the document is in another language than the one you pick, the narration and on-screen text are translated; the quoted source sentence stays in its own language, and the video carries a "translated narration" label. The panel's menus and buttons, the quiz and SCORM text, and the proof report are in Turkish today.

What it is not

It is not an avatar or talking-head tool, and it is not a word-for-word text-to-speech reader. If the video must follow your script exactly as written, check the storyboard against the script before you approve.

What it costs

Billing is per finished video minute. Studio is ₺990 a month for 15 finished video minutes and Team is ₺3.490 a month for 60; prices include VAT. Revisions do not use minutes.

Questions

Will my script be read exactly as I wrote it?

Zıpır builds the video from your script's own sentences, but it chooses which sentences to narrate, so it is not guaranteed to read every line. The storyboard shows each scene's sentence before you approve anything.

Which file formats work for a script?

Word (.docx), Markdown (.md) and plain text (.txt). PDF and PowerPoint files are accepted as well. Old .doc files are not.

Does Zıpır rewrite or add to my script?

It does not add facts. Every on-screen sentence is a quote from your file with its place in the file, and a sentence that is not in your script is rejected.

Can I use speaker labels or timecodes?

Keep them out. Zıpır has no special handling for stage directions, speaker labels or timecodes, so they would be treated as text.

What if my script is very short?

A script that cannot make at least three scenes is turned down at the planning step, and no minutes are used.

Try it with your own script

Upload a script and read the storyboard first. Nothing is made until you approve it.
